Rumors of new models of iPhone and iPad with greater than current screen have been around for some time now. The latest report indicates that the iPhone with a large screen 6pouces could start sooner than expected.
Digitimes reported quoting sources that the release of the iPhone 6 is scheduled for 2014. according to Digitimes, Apple will release an iPhone 5 inch phablet, called the iPhone 6 May with a 20nm processor manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, and a large tablet, the iPad Max, in October.
Almost everyone expects Apple iPhone more next year, one way or another. But most people are waiting in September or October, the period when Apple normally releases its new iPhones.
Digitimes does not give more details on the specifications of the iPhone 6, except that the screen will be “bigger” than the one seen on the iPhone 5s of the present generation and the iPhone 5c.
To increase the screen size while maintaining resolution Retina of the existing unit, Apple will increase the number of pixels of the new screen. This means that application developers should review their applications to meet the new dimensions of the screen. Recent reports have suggested that the screen, whatever its size, is made from sapphire resistant synthetic material.
According to DisplaySearch analyst David Hsieh said that Apple is testing two different screen sizes for its next iPhone. He suggested that the company is testing a panel of 4.7 inches with resolution of 720 × 1280 and a 5.7-inch screen with full HD 1080p resolution.
Earlier in August, Digitimes reports about Samsung has also developed tablet with a screen 12 inches or more. The report indicates that the sources believe that “sellers are trying to create a new market segment to get away from the competition small devices.”
The latest report from Digitimes also talks about rumors of an iPad “pro” with a larger than that seen in the current generation of Air iPad screen. He says the company is looking to target the education market in North America with its large screen of the iPad. Rumor speaks of a 12.9 inch tablet that would release in October 2014.
The next flagship Apple could still help Apple compete in Asian markets, where Samsung has made ??a living offering phablettes.
